sexuality and ethnicity

Waterloo Road shows a good example of a homosexual boy's situation when having to come out to family, friends and peers. It shows sexuality well as the boy, Josh, struggles to come to terms with it himself and struggles even more to tell his father and friends. It shows that even now, homosexuality is shunned by some and people struggle to cope with the fact that they arent the norm. His father is seen as a very strong, typical heterosexual man and this drama demonstrates the struggle alot of fathers have with coming to terms that their child is homosexual. However it also shows it in a positive light as we see today's acceptance of it has changed as when he accepts himself others around him begin to accept him and after a while he is treated as normal.
